➢ Wild West Watauga Fest –
This annual festival held in the
Spring brings together Watauga
families for a fun-filled weekend
packed with activities to include
musical entertainment, a carnival,
and a variety of food and games.
In 2020 and 2021 the festival was
cancelled due to the global
pandemic.
The City of Watauga Public Works offices can be
found in one of the most unique office buildings in the
world-the City’s Water Tower! The City of Watauga’s
Tower Office Building includes a two million gallon
composite water tank with four floors of City office
space in the interior of the tank. The water tank was
built in 1999 to provide the City of Watauga’s 8000
customers with adequate water pressure for
household use, business use, and fire protection.
CNNMoney.com rated Watauga as 2 in the nation in 2008 “Where homes are

affordable.” The study stated that the median home price was $117,000, with a median
family income of $73,203.
Realtor.com ranked Watauga as the hottest market in the country in both 2016 and 2017
due to homes selling quickly--just 17 days on average.
