PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Engineering Department is responsible for technical review and inspection of proposed public infrastructure with new
development, floodplain administration, Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects, right of way permits for franchise utilities,
compliance with storm water requirements during construction, and project management of various other projects within the City. In
addition, the Engineering Department strives to support other departments in the planning process of new developments, plan and
execute the city's water, wastewater, storm water, and roadway CIP, and provide a wide range of technical assistance, field support, and
utility and floodplain information to other City departments, citizens, engineers, builders, and various interested parties.

FY 2019-2020 HIGHLIGHTS

∗ Plan design for the water main replacement on Harwood Road from the Hurst City Limit to Bedfordshire.
∗ Completed project administration and inspection for the Brook Hollow Drainage Channel Improvements.
∗ Completed project administration and inspection for the water main replacement in the Forest Ridge Addition and Bell Manor units
3, 4 and 5.
∗ Completed project administration and inspection for the 2020 Joint Crack Sealing Program.
∗ Completed plan design, project administration for the 2020 Street Mill and Overlay Project.
∗ Completed plan design, project administration for the 2020 Concrete at Various Locations Project.
∗ Plan design for water main replacement on Forest Ridge Drive from Harwood to Bedford Road.
∗ Full remodel of Public Works bathrooms, an addition of a men's locker room and an office relocation for the Utility Superintendent
