MISSION STATEMENT
The Aquatics Division mission is to provide responsive services and effective programs to ensure
that Hurst remains a vibrant community.
DIVISION DESCRIPTION
The Aquatics Division is responsible for the planning, promotion, implantation, and evaluation of
various seasonal activities and programs held at the Central and Chisholm Aquatics Centers.
These activities and programs include public swim, Learn-To-Swim classes, facility rentals, and
special events.
PRIOR YEAR RESULTS & ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Received the 2018 Ellis & Associates Platinum International Safety Award.
Received the 2018 Ellis & Associates Platinum designation for Lifeguard
Professionalism and Operational Safety.
Held the first “Dive-In” movie at Central Aquatics Center.
Learn-To-Swim Program (LTS) participation was 1,563.
Number of LTS classes offered was 408.
Percentage of LTS classes reaching capacity was 95%.
Number of operating days was 91.
FUTURE INITIATIVES
Continue to improve the aquatics experience through exciting new programs and
professional, award winning management.
Continue to improve the Heritage Village year round Senior Swim Program.
