CITY OF BENBROOK 2019-20 ANNUAL BUDGET
Funds are included in the Budget to refinish the shop floor in Fleet Maintenance.
Building Maintenance Activity
The Building Maintenance Activity's 2019-20 Budget allocation totals $291,820 for a net increase of $30,049 over the 2018-19 re-estimate
of $261,771.
The Budget includes additional funds for the cost-of-living adjustment for the full-time employees of the Building Maintenance Activity; this
amount is for salaries and for fringe benefits. The Budget includes funds to finance scheduled merit increases for eligible employees and
related increases in fringe benefits costs. The Budget includes funds for an increase in health, dental, and life insurance premiums.
CODE COMPLIANCE
The 2019-20 Budget for Code Compliance totals $91,176 and is $10,910 over than the 2018-19 re-estimate of $80,266. The Budget
includes additional funds for the cost-of-living adjustment and merit increase for the Code Compliance Officer. The 2019-20 Budget includes
funds for an increase in health, dental, and life insurance premiums for the Code Compliance Officer.
The Budget also includes funds for supplies and materials.
ENGINEERING
The 2019-20 Budget for the City Engineering Activity totals $306,416 for an increase of $19,662 over the 2018-19 re-estimate of
$286,754. The Engineering Activity is supervised by the Public Services Director. This activity is staffed by the City Engineer and the Public
Improvements Inspector.
The Budget includes additional funds for the cost-of-living adjustment for the full-time employees of the Engineering Activity; this amount is for
salaries and for fringe benefits. The Budget includes funds for an increase in health, dental, and life insurance premiums.
The Budget includes funds for training, dues, and memberships required for employees to maintain certifications and licenses.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIVISION
The Community Development Division performs all planning and zoning, community development, and inspection for the City of Benbrook. The
Assistant City Manager supervises all activities in the Community Development Division, serves as the Community Development Director, and
works with the Benbrook Area Chamber of Commerce and the Benbrook Economic Development Corporation to coordinate economic
development and to attract new business investment to Benbrook. The City Planner and Assistant Planner coordinate planning and zoning
