                                                    PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

     The Recreation Division is dedicated to promoting health, wellness, and community engagement within the City of Bedford. This is
     achieved through the oversight and management of the Boys Ranch Activity Center and continued growth of programs and special
     events. These events include the Valentine's Day Dance,  the Glow and Go Egg Hunt, Dog Days of Summer, and Halloweenfest. This is
     also accomplished through unique programming for youth, adult, and senior populations. The Recreation Division is essential in the
     overall quality of life for all ages of the community in the City of Bedford. Phase Next has proven that recreation is important to the
     community and this Division encompasses the community need for recreational activities.







                                                   FY 2018-2019 HIGHLIGHTS

       ∗ Facility rentals resulted in 61,224 people utilizing the Boys Ranch Activity Center and pavilions around the parks.
       ∗ Active Net allowed a more efficient way to track membership usage, which counted 6,473 scans and 1,085 unique members
         throughout the year.
       ∗ Glow and Go Easter Event sold out with 450 participants.
       ∗ Summer Camp was sold out for the first six weeks.

        Revitalization
         ∗ Offer new and unique programs that facilitate connectivity within the community, such as Summer Day Camp, community
           special events, and fitness classes.

        Economic Vitality
         ∗ Collaborate with community organizations at special events to promote Bedford businesses.
         ∗ Partner with Bedford businesses to foster recognition and awareness of local stores and restaurants.

        Transformation
         ∗ Engage with current facility users and provide program evaluations to gauge community interest.

        Organizational Excellence
         ∗ Continue to educated staff on safety policies and procedures as well as require all staff to obtain CPT/First Aid Certification
           through the American Red Cross.
         ∗ Continue to have monthly in-services for Customer Service Associates to promote quality customer service at the facility.

        Communicate & Engage with Citizens
         ∗ Maintain consistency throughout all social media, website pages, and other promotional materials.
         ∗ Offer various volunteer opportunities for the community, especially with regards to special events.
         ∗ Support and participate in neighborhood block parties.
