Cover Description
The City of Bedford is well-known for its signature FourthFest and Labor Day Blues & BBQ
Festival, but many don’t know that the City puts on a multitude of other events throughout the year
for residents and visitors.
To name only a few, fall starts out with the Halloween Boo-Bash, which provides fun
entertainment for families and children of all ages. Last year saw the first, and very popular,
Pumpkin Patch at the Bedford Library. Patrons were able to enjoy daily activities, take photos,
and purchase pumpkins with proceeds benefitting both the Library and the Navajo & Zuni
Nations. Of course, the holiday season can’t begin until the Senior Center hosts its annual holiday
luncheon, where City staff and council serve the members lunch, a token of thanks for being
committed members of the Senior Center and of Bedford.
Winter wouldn’t be the same without a visit from Santa Claus to light the tree at the Bedford
Christmas Tree Lighting & Petpalooza. Visitors can enjoy a hay ride, kid activities, vendors, and
live performances while waiting their turn to visit Santa.
Spring sees multiple events, with the Beautification Commission Cleaning Up Bedford, a visit
from the Crud Cruiser to ensure residents help the City stay environmentally friendly, and the
Community Affairs Commission block party to bring neighbors together. There is something for
the younger Bedford residents as well, it’s the Glow and Go Easter Egg Hunt where they can hunt
for Easter Eggs and other fun surprises in the dark. Finally, there is Artsfest, providing live music,
food, and lots of art on display.
As spring fades to summer, music fills the air at the Twilight Concert Series. Every Friday night
in May, a different artist provides an open-air concert complete with vendors and a food truck to
serve up tasty eats.
Bedford has a great appreciation for its residents and guests - Providing these events, and other
opportunities for year-round entertainment and fun, is a small way in which the City says
THANKS to its community.
