SALES TAXES $68.4 MILLION, 25.4% OF GENERAL FUND REVENUES
The City’s portion of the total 8.0-cent sales tax rate is 1.75 cents. Six and one-quarter cents is retained by the state, the General
Fund receives 1 cent, one-half cent provides funding to repay the City’s portion of the debt on sports venues, and one-quarter
cent provides funding for street maintenance. General Fund sales tax revenue for FY 2020 is projected at $68,375,846. These
taxes represent 25.4% of General Fund revenue in FY 2020, up from 25.3% in the FY 2019 budget. The following chart
illustrates sales tax revenue trends during the past 12 years.
