 DIVISION DESCRIPTION:
 The Crime Prevention Officer works to develop community involvement and support in the prevention of crime and criminal disorder. The Crime Prevention

 Officer assists in educating the public to protect themselves and their property from criminals. The Crime Prevention Officer conducts background
 investigations of perspective police department employees. The Crime Prevention Officer is supervised by the Chief of Police. The activity is staffed by a
 Corporal/Detective.







 DIVISION GOALS:
 • To organize the citizens of Benbrook in the fight to reduce crime.
 • To achieve 100% participation in the City-Wide Crime Prevention Program.

 • To provide information and services which will assist the residents in making Benbrook a safer place to live.





 DIVISION OBJECTIVES:
 • -To monitor expenditures and remain within + or - 5% of the Activity's budget allocation.
 • -To maintain a good working relationship with the Block Captains.
 • -To assist Block Captains in their efforts to keep neighbors informed of criminal activities taking place in their neighborhoods.
 • -To maintain a minimum of 30 public appearances and make presentations on various crime prevention topics and subjects.

 • -To maintain active Crime Prevention Programs.
